Katrina Kaif, the sizzling hot firang bombshell of bollywood who plays a guest role in upcoming flick ‘Blue’, is furious with the producer for using her name to publicize the underwater caper.
The movie has Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta playing the main lead, while Katrina Kaif plays only an eight minute cameo in the film, but her presence is being prominently displayed in trailers and television teasers. This has obviously infuriated the firang beauty, who sees this as a breach of trust between her and the filmmakers.
In fact, the beautiful babe says that she had made it very clear to director Tony D’souza at the very beginning that her name should not appear in the publicity material and hoardings, as that would be misleading and ruin her image among the audience. But, the fact is that it is being done brazenly by the filmmakers to create buzz before the release of this mega-budget flick.
Sources close to Katrina Kaif say that ‘Blue’ is a underwater action thriller and all the main players had to shoot under water for it. However, Katrina Kaif, as she was playing only a guest appearance, did not venture into water with other stars, even then the makers have been projecting her to be the main attraction of the film.
One of the main reasons for this is said to be Katrina Kaif’s new look for the film. Insiders reveal that Katrina has donned a pierced lower lip in the flick and the director and his think tank thinks that it would become a major fashion statement after the release of the film, and so have been concentrating on that.
However, for creating this new pierced look for Katrina Kaif, her lower lip was not really pierced. In fact, Katrina has worn a magnetic ring under her lips to give the look of a pierced new look in Tony D’souza’s upcoming flick ‘Blue’.
Though, Katrina Kaif is not happy with filmmakers for using her name to publicize the flick, but producers have another tale to justify their action. A source from the production house reveals that Katrina Kaif had been paid a heavy amount for eight minute appearance, and the amount was no less than she would have charged for a full fledged role. And, if they have paid her full price, why should she object to use of her name.
Another reason is said to be the belief that Katrina Kaif has always been lucky for Akshay Kumar( recall ‘Welcome’ ‘Namaste London’, ‘ Singh is Kinng’ etc), and as Akki plays the main lead in ‘Blue’, the makers wanted to publicize the pair of Akshay-Katrina to attract audience to the theatres.
This was also necessitated by the fact that the budget of the film has gone overboard and the movie has not been able to create buzz in the same proportion in these recession hit times. By using Katirna Kaif’s name, the filmmakers want to ensure maximum benefit from their investment for their flick ‘Blue.’
Bollywood star Katrina Kaif was literally knocked down by a 12-year-old boy at the Indian Independence Day parade in Houston. The star did not throw any temper tantrums over the issue but took it in her stride.
